Do Jet Ski’s Come With Trailers?

I work at a Sea Doo Dealership and one of the most common questions I get is “Do Jet Ski’s come with a Trailer?”.

Jet Skis DO NOT come with trailers.

Well, not the modern ones. There was the LRV’s that came with trailers, but it’s been a decade when those were around.

So What Kind Of Trailer Do I need?

Now the next question you may have is what kind of trailer do you need? That depends on what watercraft you have or going to get.

There is literally hundreds of types of trailers out there, Seadoo makes trailers that work very well. They’re called Sea Doo Move Trailers and you can get them in a one jet ski or a two jet ski version.

You have a regular black-painted, galvanized, and aluminum trailers as your main options. The Galvanized is more expensive but doesn’t corrode as quickly as the black painted ones do. The Black Painted ones are just perfect for around town or even long trips, but not the best if you plan on riding in at the beach or salty water. Aluminum trailers can be the more expensive option but also the best option.

How Much?

You can find out how much new jet ski trailers cost here.

The Best Jet Ski Trailer

Even though I sell Sea Doo’s I don’t consider there trailers to be the best. Don’t get me wrong they’re great trailers and for the price you can’t beat them.

But sometimes people want the best of the best and the people who want that then want Triton Trailers. They’re aluminum trailers so they’re lighter and don’t corrode as bad as the other trailers. They seem to last longer than basic steel painted trailers.

I do find Aluminum Trailers do hold their value better than any other trailer. Keep this in mind when you want to sell your watercraft or looking to buy used.

If you’re curious here is a video of a Triton WC2-2 which is one of the more fully-loaded Triton Trailers you can get for a two-place. If you can I would really consider this trailer since it has the two axles for better towing.

Just Find One That Fits Your Watercraft

The best thing to do is call your local dealer and see what trailers they have in-stock and what jet ski you’re going to put on it. Your local dealer will help you the best to find what suits your needs.

I will say to stay away from the trailers you can get at like “depot” store that you have to put together. These trailers are cheap and not worth your time. They never really work and most are way too small for modern watercraft.

  1. Thank you for this information. Do dealers care if you already have your own trailer when you buy a new ski? I will hopefully be in the market for a new ski this winter but I have a chance to get a decent deal on a new trailer now. The trailer I’m looking out will be more than adequate (specs) for the new ski I’m considering.

    • The dealers don’t care if you have your own trailer. They may charge you to adjust the trailer to fit your new jet ski, it depends on the dealer. It’s important you get a trailer that will fit your jet ski. I’ve had customers with old trailers from 15 years ago come in and the jet skis today are double in size so the tailers won’t fit.

  2. First of all I love your blogs. Please keep them coming. Secondly, how do I know if a trailer will specifically fit the jet ski model I plan on purchasing? Looking at Sea-Doo standups…

    • Many of the trailers you buy today can be adjusted to fit a variety of watercraft. Usually, the cheaper the trailer the smaller a watercraft it will fit. It’s best to go by what the trailer manufacturer says on their website to see if your watercraft will fit. But if you’re getting a stand-up they’re all pretty small so just about any jet ski trailer should work for it.
